Do you use a Videophone application? If not you can disable that error message by removing the
pointer to the file. Run regedit and navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\VFIXD. Back up, then delete the VFIXD
key (folder) from the left pane. If you do use Videophone, then you can Run=>sfc and extract the
vxd file to c:\windows\system.

I am running a Pentium II, Windows98.
Just after the Windows 98 logo closes this message in a DOS form comesup.
I have gone to these places that are listed, Device Manager,
Install/Uninstall. Where I did find a large yellow '?' that says:
Unsupported Device. I tried installing an updated driver. But I am
afraid to just dump it.
Cannot find a device file that may be needed to run windows or a windows
application.
The windows registry or SYSTEM.INI file refers to this device file, but
the device file no longer exists.
If you deleted this file on purpose, try re-installing the associated
application using uninstall or set up program.
If you still want to use the application associated with this device
file, try reinstalling that application to replace the missing
file.vfixd.vxd.
Press key to continue.
