Hi,

I'm trying to play .wav file and the system says that the file uses
unrecognized compression format. I've checked all installed audio codecs -
they are installed correctly.

Can anyone help me to solve this problem?

The problem is the list of codecs increase over time and you are missing the
needed one.
Here is a list of things to try.
1) make sure you are using the latest version of media player
(6.4.07.1028)
2)connect to the internet, start windows media player, click help
and then check for updates.
If this still doesn't work try winamp at www.winamp.com it rarely fails to
play any sound format and the EQ and plugins really improve the sound.
If you still cant play a particular wav it may be corrupt.
