Had multiple IE problems, which have been solved, I think? BUT not all:

Clicking on a Desktop Icon gives me a 'Find Target' block. It's not working
anymore in my Win98se. I hate to lose it since it is really handy. Anyone
with a fix?
Thanx, Chuck ---

Not working? If you click a shortcut whose Target has been moved (from
one folder to another), it WILL begin a frantic search for it. But it
won't necessarily find it.

What shortcut are you clicking? R-Clk it instead, & select Properties.
What is in the Target field?

Sorry, I did not clearly express my problem. Yes, I right click on a Desktop
Icon shortcut link - then click on PROPERTIES, a box comes up showing the
program location. The box has two click options: 1) to change the Icon and;
2) 'Find target', which previously would take me to the program (none of the
programs have been moved). Now 'Find Target' does NOT do it. I click on it
.. and Bupkus! .. nothing happens :((

The 'Change Icon' option DOES work - weird :((

I'd like to energize 'Find Target' again. It's a convient tool. This
happened AFTER I re-installed my Win 98 se. Maybe a file is missing or
corrupt. I don't know where to locate the appropriate file, DLL, exe, etc,
to investigate. Does anybody?

Thanx, Chuck ---

You didn't post what was in there, in the Target field. Was it blank?
Did you go to the folder and see whether the program was there?

It's alive!

I had another problem with Critical Update downloads. Went to DL
troubleshooting URL: http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/
and located my Update problem description:

* "Problem Downloading/Installing a Software (Non-Driver) item:"
Specifically, "Download hangs. The Windows Update - Web Page Dialog window
appears but download never starts (Windows 98)" .

Followed procedures using MCREPAIR.EXE, which fixed Update problem and
indirectly fixed my previously inoperable 'Find Target'.

Done, 'till the next adventure!
