Greetings Newsgroup,

Can anyone tell me anything about Microsoft VidCap for Win98? Where one can
download it/ buy it? I've done a (I think) fairly thorough search at
Microsoft but can find nothing about it. And I mean nothing; Microsoft
search doesn't come up with even one hit!?!

I am perplexed!

Thanks in advance, Geoff

Microsoft "VidCap"?? Haven't heard of it myself.

I know that on the Office 97 CD (and the service pack CD for Office), they
include Microsoft Camcorder, which basically captures the monitor is
displaying into an AVI file (and even into a self playing EXE file).

Is this what you're looking for?

VidCap32.exe is part of the Platform SDK Tools available from http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/platformsdk/setuplauncher.htm (potentially huge download!)... There's also a link to it on this page http://www.divicore.com/support/loaddown.html#misc but their FTP server appears to be down.

It's a simple video capture utility for video cameras and the like.
