Keep getting the message "Volume in drive C has no label". What does it mean
and should I worry? Have Windows 98, Dell Dimension XPS R400. Nan

Likely its some program that looks for drive labels to organize something..
nothing to worry about, but annoying... so label it...

open my computer.
right click c: drive
type ina label(upto 11 characters no spaces hyphens dashes or slashes or
anything unusual)
Click apply then ok.

HTH,
Bill

Where is the message coming from? I've never placed a label on any hard drives
since there were such things, and I HATE when installs do it for me so I remove
it, it isn't needed.

Just a suggestion, Label your Hard drive as Maker & size.
Example: Maxtor 6gb

It's nothing to be concerned with. If you want to give it a label, type
"Label" from a DOS command line, then press 'enter,' and you can then do it.
But for all intents and purposes, don't bother.

Hope this gets to you before Christmas, my server is slow/down tonight.

My 2cents. When you choose a name for your label, as suggested and explained
buy all the others, DO NOT USE "Windows" as a name. Why you ask? Look here:

I found it posted in one of the groups I lurk in. It was in response to a
complaint of not being able to load Task Scheduler. I read every message and
compile a list of replies and links I find useful. As you can see, it can
also help others.
