If you are starting it from a shortcut, make sure that the shortcut has the
Start In directory set how you want it. If you are starting it from a menu
item then create a shortcut (with the Start in directory correctly set) and
referece the shortcut fromthe menu item. If that doesn't work, try starting
a file instead of a folder. Create a blank file with the correct extension
for Notepad (.TXT should be OK, unless you've changed it) and start that
instead of notepad. Make the file read-only so you ar reminded to change
the name before saving.
If none of this works, check out the many good free text editor utilities
that are available for download - some of them ar sure to be configurable
for the default file folder.
