Disk Cleanup - Bogus Warnings

According to Microsoft KB Article #Q191824, the threshold for low disk space
warnings on a 1 GB drive is 5% (25-50 MB free space), yet Disk Cleanup
repeatedly (daily) warns me of low disk space on my "D" drive (primary
partition on hard disk 2) whenever the free space on that drive falls below
255 MB!

It is a standard EIDE partition, converted to FAT 32, shows no errors when
ScanDisk is run on it, and is running properly in protected mode. Also,
this partition does not house any virtual memory space (i.e., my SWAP FILE
IS NOT ON THIS DRIVE).

I obviously have plenty of space left on the drive and the endless warnings
are driving me nuts. The article referenced above also states that these
thresholds are not user configurable -- but something must be wrong with the
threshold setting for this drive!

I do not want to completely disable Disk Cleanup scanning for the drive, as
I need to be notified if this drive ever does run low on space (it is used
for critical backups).

Any ideas how to fix this?

Have you tried to adjust the Recycle Bin's settings? Try setting the amount
of space reserved on a per drive basis instead of globally......

Been there, done that: My Recycle Bin has always been configured for each
drive separately, and that drive is set for only 10% recycle space. Thanks
for the suggestion, though.
