DUN & NumLock

I have two Win 95 questions, one critical and one just curious.

1) My mother got a new ISP and had to set up a new DUN connection. It's
been a long time since I used Windows 95, but I recall that there was a fix
for whatever causes Win 95 DUN to refuse to save a password. Can anyone
tell me how to fix that for her?

2) Is it possible to turn of the automatic NumLock, which comes on when she
boots up her machine?

I am trying to help my mother with her computer problems long-distance, and
it complicates things when I don't have Win 95 in front of me. I'm grateful
for any assistance you can provide.
