I search for the file then download. It will require a blank floppy
disk. Then run the disk and it should cure the problem
If you have a problem email me an I will send it to you.

McM, it's just simply trying to install the drivers that allow Windows to
manage your PCI bus ports so that it can talk to the expansion cards (if
any) that are plugged into them. It's the same with your serial ports,
CD-ROM drive, USB ports (if you have them), or just about any hardware.
However, I'm surprised that Windows does not already have drivers for PCI.
Next time, try click ok and see what happens.

I am only suggesting what has worked for me.
Otherwise, the USB update should be on your Setup CD, probably in
\other\updates\usb
with a .txt file conatining the instructions. Be sure to run both the
updates, with a system reboot after each one.

I don't have any answers for this-my machine is doing the same. I found that
the PC senses the PCI modem which is already installed anyway. If you try to re
install, ther's big problems. I usually start up again from cold and all is
well!. Why, I don't know

On some older Pentium I motherboards combined with early versions of Win
95, unless you have USB installed, the PCI modem will not be found. I
have experienced this problem. I couldn't install USB either, and had to
go with a ISA modem. Hope this sheds some light.

I believe I've encountered the same issue.
On the 95 CD in \other\usb there should be an 'usbsupp.exe' file. If you
don't find this, let me know and I'll mail it to you.
Run this, remove the unknown device from device manager and reboot. Should
install when it reboots. Also, if it asks you for drivers when it reboots,
instead of the cabs folder, enter 'c:\%windows folder%\system' for the
location.
Now I'm dealing with the next USB problem that comes up!!
Good Luck,
Mark
