I am having this problem where after I click on "Yes" to shut down, it
goes to that blue screen "Please wait while your computer is shutting",
just staying there and never shutting down. I am running WIN OSR2,
Novell 4.11. Please help.

Why doesn't DOS ever say "EXCELLENT command or filename"?

I have also found that if you are running the Novell Client32 to access
the network, ensure you have the latest one. I did this and reduced the
shutdown time dramatically.
Please e-mail me with the solution!

Try the MS Troubleshooting Wizard, Startup/Shutdown problems at:
www.microsoft.com/support. Choose Windows 95, then the wizards are at the
right side of the screen.

Win95 hangs on shutdown with autoprotect.
In your Norton AntiVirus Folder (C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus, by
default) is a file, APMSGOFF.REG. Import this file into your registry, =
by
double clicking it. This file changes the way Norton AntiVirus
Auto-Protect works. When you import this file into your registry, the
Auto-Protect message displayed during shutdown is disabled. This will =
avoid
a problem with
some video drivers where the system appears to hang during shutdown. =
Your
floppy drives are still scanned for viruses if Norton AntiVirus is
configured to do so. Import APMSGON.REG into your registry to re-enable
the message. You must restart Windows for this change to take effect.
In the event you receive an error during import, copy the file to your
Windows Temp directory, and then double click it, this should resolve =
your
problem. If not, Start REGEDIT, Click on Registry and select Import
Registry Files. Point to the APMSGOFF.REG in your NAV folder =
(C:\Program
Files\Norton AntiVirus, by default). This situation pops up on some
computers with no real explanation why it happens.
