W3KNET.DLL is not a Windows file.

It *is*, apparently, a file needed by something you once installed -- and is
now being called from the Registry, startup folder, or other startup
location.

A search of the web didn't produce any answers -- though it *did* produce
about 20-30 articles of people asking how to find this file, and not getting
any answers!

It's my understanding that W3KNET.DLL is a WEB AD spyware file...... that
has been added to your registry and executes at startup. I BELIEVE it comes
from a site at www.web3000.com.

I would remove all traces of w3k from my registry and deleted all the
related w3k files from my system
