Living in Dallas there and having a metro phone line I can send faxes to many 214, 972 and 817 area codes without dialing the 1 first. Yet for the life of me cannot get MS Fax to send/forward faxes without adding the 1 first! Can anyone help?

Lie to it. If you are in area code 214, then enter other local numbers with different area codes as +1 (214) 972-xxx-xxxx. -- Sue Mosher Slipstick Systems, Moscow mailto:s...@slipstick.com (RTF enabled) FAQs at Exchange Center -- http://www.slipstick.com/exchange

Check the Dialing Properties for your Modem in the Control Panel and see if a "1" is in the "for long distance" field.
