Is there an DOS based app out there that will find and replace text in a
text file? I'm trying to replace a section of the WIN.INI on WFW
machines by running this file through a login script.

Your help is greatly appriciated.

You should be able to write a little program quickly in any version of
DOS Basic, Patrick. Fool around with QBASIC.EXE. It's got pretty good

EDIT will do that in DOS, but not in a fully automated script
environment.

You could probably do it with Word Perfect 5.1 using a startup macro.

Check the software libraries for VDE.COM -
It's an ASCII version of Wordstar -
Free and very versatile -
