Hi,

I know DOSbox was developed for games therefore
a parallel port is not part of it. I want to use
it for a word processor. Does it give an add on
for DOSbox that emulates a parallel port?

Does it *need* to be DOSbox? Other emulators support the parallel port out of
the box.

If it *must* be DOSbox, this build claims to support numerous things that
aren't in the official build:

I use VMware Player. Virtual PC would also work; VirtualBox *probably* would
too, but I have no experience with it.

VMware Player is here:

Virtual PC is here:

...and VirtualBox is here:
http://www.virtualbox.org/

All are free; VirtualBox is also open source (if that matters to you). VMware
is my choice, but you should use whatever ends up working for you.

One important thing: none of them provide an operating system (unlike DOSbox)
although you can download images from many www sites. VMware has a list of
what they call "virtual appliances" here:
http://www.vmware.com/appliances/

Some of them are DOS "appliances"; search there for DOS.
