Hi,
I have a 486 with win3.11 on it and have recently installed a CD-ROM drive.
It works fine but I attempted to add MID CD Player and when I was prompted
for Disk #6 from Win3.11...I get a message saying "Cannot find file" or it
just asks me again to insert the diskette...I know it was looking for the
MCICDA.DRV file so I copied it from another computer that was also running
Win3.11, I am going to put that file in my WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder...but what
else do I have to do to make the driver installation complete?
Thanks, Sue Noyes

Sometimes this happens, Sue. You should try inserting other disks, especially
the next one. You can also locate the correct disk by searching them for the
compressed file MCICDA.DR_ (with an underline instead of V for the last
character).

It *should* be here:

Windows for Workgroups 3.11 Disk 8 (5.25 inch, 1.2 MB)
Windows for Workgroups 3.11 Disk 6 (3.5 inch, 1.44 MB)
Windows for Workgroups Upgrade 3.11 Disk 6 (3.5 inch, 1.44 MB)
Windows for Workgroups Upgrade 3.11 Disk 8 (5.25 inch, 1.2 MB)

You should add this line to the [MCI] section of System.ini.

CDAudio=mcicda.drv

And there should be a line like this in the [Options] section of Mplayer.ini:

CDAudio=<some number>

where <some number> is something like 17.

But there may be other things I don't know about. It's best to load it from the
disk.

Here's an article that will help you troubleshoot it.

And here's a tip.
