Ralf, there was no backup program that was part of any version of 16-bit
Windows. They all came with MS-DOS. MS-DOS 6.x came with both MSBACKUP.EXE for
DOS and MWBACKUP.EXE which ran in Windows.

If you have the Windows 95 CD-ROM, you have the MSBACKUP.EXE that came with
MS-DOS 6.22. If you don't, you can download it.

See this article.

("Restoring Backups Created with Earlier Versions of MS-DOS")

It is important that you know what version of MS-DOS was in use. Backups that
came with 6.0 and 6.2 usually pose problems that may be overcome only with
difficulty (because a different compression system was in use and compression
was the default).

Sure, Ralf. Download the self-extracting file MSBACK.EXE from this web page:

http://support.microsoft.com/support/downloads/dp1700.asp

Decompress the file in a folder by itself. You'll get these files.

Msbackdb.ovl Msbackup.hlp
Msbconfg.ovl Msbackup.exe
Msbackup.ovl Msbackfr.ovl
Msbconfg.hlp Msbackdr.ovl
Msbackfb.ovl

You may need to use Setver to fool Msbackup.exe into thinking that MS-DOS 7.1 is
6.22. If you don't know how to do that, come back here.
