Good day all

I'm know to WMI, I created a script that goes and Check the media type
properties of the WIN32_LogicalDisk, the things is that when i query this
properties it returns results like 5,12 ,11. now i image that 5 means floppy
and 1 means Harddrive but were can i find documentation on the matter?

thanks in advance Oren Zippori

Info is in the WMI section of the platform SDK. You can download it
from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/platformsdk/sdkupdate/

You may actually want the drivetype attribute. For the Mediatype
attribute, everything is outlined in the docs, and it doesn't mean what
you thought. 12 is a generic catchall for "fixed media"; the other
values are primarily specific formats of 3.5" to 8" floppies.

5 (F3_720_512) 3 1/2-Inch Floppy Disk - 720Kb - 512 bytes/sector
11 Removable media other than floppy
12 Fixed hard disk media

You can also find a quick link to the Microsoft docs online here:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/wmisdk/wmi/win32_logicaldisk.asp
