My computer is a HP desktop computer, Model a1740n, with Windows Vista 6.0
Home Premium (Build 6002, Service Pack 2).
I have downloaded TB3 and, when I execute it, it generates the following
error: Load TLB failed!!! (maybe DLL name if wrong) and opens (the form
presented is nearly empty). What is wrong?
Thank you.

1. Tb3 was downloaded from your Web Site clicking on
ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/developr/TAPI/Tb3x.zip. The file is dated 12 Jan
2001 and its size in bytes is 178.176;
2. No TSP were installed;
3. Tapi Browser 2,.0 works correctly;
4. The exception that I mentioned occurs in mdhcp.dll.
Hope this helps.
Thanks!
Georges

That's the same version I'm using.
It's running on my XP/SP PC.
AFAIR it has worked with Vista too, but I will retest when I'm at a Vista PC
next time.

What version info and file size / date does your mdhcp.dll show?
I can see this DLL only on my XP partition (V5.1.2600.0, 50.176 Bytes, 10.
August 2004, 13:00:00),
but not on my Vista partition.
I apologize for having sent e-mails to your private address. I clicked on
the wrong button on my e-mail software.
Additionally, I have been negligent in providing you some information. The
exception I referred to occurs three times before TB3x.exe opens. The three
exceptions are the same and are generated by mdhcp.dll, rend.dll and
sdpblb.dll. I searched for these files on my computer but none of them
exist. However, mdhcp.idl, rend.idl and sdpblb.idl exist.
If this helps, my modem is a failly old one. It is a "US Robotics 56K Voice
PCI" that I have used in a TAPI 2 application that can detect CallerID, play
and record messages at 8KHz, 16-bit, mono but is not recognized as capable
of "voice" when I search its voice capabilities. ExceleTel Telescope also
provides the following message when properties are dumped:
WavePlay.Available = False
WavePlay.ID = 0
WavePlay.DeviceClass = 'wave/out'
WaveRecord.Available = False
WaveRecord.ID = 0
WaveRecord.DeviceClass = 'wave/in'
I hope that this helps.
Thank you again.
Georges
