Hello!

Does anyone know where I can find an AT command set for modems online? It should include commands for 56Kbps modems, if possible.

Thanx for any useful suggestions

You can get a list of the AT commands with the manual that comes with
your modem.

I just remebered if you connect to your modem using hyper terminal, you
can get just about every AT command, by typing 'AT$' and all the AT&
commands by using the 'AT&$' command.

Hope this helps.

Thanx, but my set of manuals doesn't contain any reference to AT command sets, claiming they are not necessary. I tried out the website of the manufacturer (Zoom Telephonics), but could not seem to find a command set that supports my modem. So my question is: is the same AT command set applicable to all modems as long as they support the latest standards, i.e. is it like a standard lanuage? If so, where could I obtain one that includes all possible modem commands?

Once again, thank you very much for your reply.

Didn't work. I tried both commands and got the response "ERROR". Seems this command is not supported by my modem.

Nevertheless, thank you for the reply.

Go to the Rockwell and USR (3Com) sites and look there. The AT command set
is specific to the modem. In reality, most modems support the default for
the chip manufacturer. There are three effective standards: Rockwell, USR
and Lucent, with some bit players like Cirrus.

Regards.

First: That won't work with most chipsets.
Second: He asked for the MEANINGS for the commands -- not a meaningLESS
list.

I did a search on "AT command" and got many hits.

Here is one..

http://www.dsc.clara.net/at.htm

To get voice commands, you could try "AT#V".

But I am not sure about the portability of this comand listing across
modems.

In that vein, I have a Lucent chipset AT command set document on my site.

Thank you very much, Andrew! I'll check out the sites you mentioned, maybe I find additional info.
Meanwhile, another helpful fellow (named Muhammad Djamaluddin) has sent me a complete AT command set for Lucent-based modems by e-mail in response to my newsgroups post. Written in PDF format, it contains all possible commands that modems based on Lucent Technologies' chipsets use, including voicemail, Video Conferencing and V.90 support. It was of great help to me, not only due to the information it contains, but also since my modem contains a Lucent chipset, so I was able to instantaneously test all commands with my modem. Now I know much more. Nevertheless, I will follow your advice, at least to know some of the differences between the different manufacturers' command sets.

Once again, thank you very much!

Ishwar,

thank you very much for this link! I haven't tried it out yet, but I certainly will. The AT#V does not work with my modem (Lucent-based chipset), though, but I have already obtained a command set for it. As I have understood from other posts into this thread, the actual implementation of the AT command set varies with the chipset brand.

Nevertheless, thank you for your effort and help!

Michael,

thank you very much for the information you provided! I have obtained an additional PDF document containing the full command set for Lucent-based modems. As my modem happens to be a Lucent-based one (Zoom 2925L), both documents were of great help.

If you have a document that you think may be useful for my website, please feel free to email it to me. That goes for anyone else out there as well.

Hi Michael,

how to send AT commands to the modem? Which APIs must be used (called)?

Best regards,
Jonathan
