Thanks for your help

All 3 versions are part of the Windows Media Component Setup program.
Goto here and select Codecs Installation Packages, Windows Media Codecs 8.0
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/default.asp
There seems to be an issue with the DDL version. The one
included in this package is ver 4.1.0.3920. We are having
an issue with the compression level with this version
which seems to be a lot less than version 4.1.0.3917.
According to the DLL help web pages version 4.1.0.17 came
with:
Exchange Server 2000
Exchange Server 2000 SP1
Office XP Professional
Small Business Server 2000
I need to know if we can redistribute this version of the
DLL with our product as long as it is installed on a valid
licenced Windows OS. does this DLL follow the same rules
outlined in the Windows Media Codecs 8.0 EULA.
Thanks in advance

I can't help you there, you will need to contact the MS legal department.
