WAB - Detecting deleted contacts

I have code that read all of the contacts from the WAB.
The problem is that I get *ALL* contacts - even deleted
ones. Since my users may not compact their WAB, I'll read
the deleted records too.

What I want to know is how can I detect which record are
marked as deleted?

FYI: I even downloaded the "WABTOOL" sample from MSDN and
it, too, displays my deleted contacts. Yet the WAB.EXE
doesn't. So there is clearly some deleted flag that I
need to inspect.
