I can go into Control Panel Display Properties and on the Settings Tab I
can uncheck the "Extend my Windows Desktop to this Monitor" checkbox. Then
when my machine reboots, that monitor is not part of my desktop.
You can also add/remove monitors from the desktop using
ChangeDisplaySettings() per the following article:
