Hi All,
When I play an AVI in Windows Media Player the colors in
the AVI do not reflect existing color corrections invoked
thru the display adapter software (as implemented in
Control Panel). Instead the colors in the AVI seem to
reflect nominal hardware defaults. If I lower the
hardware acceleration level to a value where DirectDraw
and Direct3D functions are disabled, THEN color
corrections are implemented as expected. When WMP is in
pause mode the colors are as expected, but when play is
resumed the colors in the AVI revert to uncorrected. I've
upgraded to the latest drivers for the display adapter
which made no difference.

System: W2K, 1.60GHz, 256MB RAM
DirectX 9.0 (4.09.0000.0900)
Display Adapter: 64MB NVIDIA GeForce2 MX with TV Out
Windows Media Player: v6.4.9.1109

An older slower system with DirectX 8.0 at identical
display settings incl. full hardware acceleration does not
exhibit the problem.

A big Thanks to all who can help resolve the problem.

Is this a DirectX video programming question (the topic of this newsgroup)?

What does NVIDIA tech support say?

Does it happen with WMP 9?
