Hey everyone. I need help mapping local drives when
connecting to a Terminal Server machine. We use the
Remote Desktop Connection client, the XP version, to
connect to Windows 2000 Server machines. All the clients,
btw, are Windows 2000 Pro. I have checked the option to
map the local printer and that works fine. The issue I am
having, however, is mapping local drives when connecting
to the TS machine. I have read up on the feature and it
seems simple enough to enable, putting a check in the
checkbox. And since the local printer maps correctly (and
functions properly) it doesn't seem as though there are
any group policy settings that need changing (maybe I'm
looking in the wrong place?)

Is this feature availabe to Windows 2000 users? I thought
it was a XP only feature but since mapping local printers
works I'm not so sure. Any help/advise will be
appreciated. Thanks.

This is ONLY available if your Terminal Server runs Windows 2003 Server and
up.
Windows 2000 TS does NOT support this as it uses RDP5.0 and this feature is
only available on RDP5.1 or RDP5.2.
Is there a way to upgrade Windows 2000 TS to RDP5.2? NO. You must upgrade
the whole OS to Windows 2003 Server and up.
