XP home notebook with TS client installed trying to
connect to company terminal server in domain thru dial up
connection...
Can you connect XP HOme to a corporate domain?
If no what else can be done to get this notebook onto
terminal server so remote user can get onto corporate LAN

Problem one is I have no floppy drive. I am attempting to
set up ts client off an internal network drive. When
setup runs I get an error with program reading mstsc.exe
file. When I finish up I attempt to open program and
connect to my terminal server via a dial up connection and
I get a message indicating that a network error is
occurring. This is only happening on this XP home edition
laptop. Ideas?

Oops - that's the problem. It comes *with* the client. You may have attempted
to overwrite the files. They are there in the source folder for XP Home if you
need to extract new ones. The relevant files are:
mstsc.ex_
mstscax.dl_

Both files should already exist in C:\windows\system32, and should be version
5.1.2600. Whether they are still there or you have to extract and reinstall
them, do this: Open a command prompt in that folder and run
regsvr32 mstscax.dll
to make sure the correct version is registered.

Also check the C:\windows\system32\dllcache folder to make sure no copy is
there.

For future reference, I *think* the shortcut for the TS client is in
Accessories\Communications, and is labeled Remote Desktop Connection. That's
what it's called on Pro, anyway, and I suspect the same with Home.

It is.... and for Lois, you are still able to access domain resources
with Home Edition by accessing them directly... The lack of domain
membership limits the ability to use Logon Scripts, Group Policies,
and other management function, but doesn't limit file and print server
access if you have a valid domain username and password.
