I posted earlier that I had two disks, I found out today
that there are two partitions on one disk.
I have a 4GB partition that's my system partition and it's
running out of space. I'd like to add the other 14GB on
the same disk to that partition. From what I've read you
can't extend a system partition? If so, is there another
way I can add this disk space without having to format?

Dave,
I tested Diskpart on a test server, while it worked it
can't tell you how big the unallocated space is so I
tested another product called PartitionExpert 2003 from
Acronis. With this product I'm able to easily create boot
disks and do a bunch more than just resize the partition.
I'll report back as to how well it worked on the
production server.

Here is what I did to extend my existing system disk
partition:
1.) Used Dell PowerEdge tool FAST to extend the hardware
level partition
2.) Installed PartitionExpert 2003 and had it create the
boot diskettes
3.) Restarted server and booted with PartitionExpert
diskettes
4.) Ran PartitionExpert 2003 and extended partition
The whole thing took about 30 minutes including the reboot.
This was the best $45 for a server tool I've ever spent.
