Network Drive mappings with Batch file

I am using the net use L: "path for mapping" and the L:
drive maps just fine except for something weird. When the
net use command completes a Window Explorer window pops up
displaying the L: drive. I can't figure out why this is
happening. Also when the script completes I can't use the
net use L: /delete /yes to disconnect the drive. Since
there is a window open displaying the L: drive.
