resize partition - Win2K Server

I simply need to resize an NTFS partition on a Win2K Server machine but I
don't want to pay $500 for the "server" versions of some of these products.
Are there any freeware/shareware products that will resize partitions? Even
paying something like $50 is not a problem as long as it also works with
Win2K _Server_.

Here's the deal: Server Magic will work...but it's expensive as you know.
The catch 22 is that to be on the safe side...you need to back up your data
before you repartition...
even with a relatively safe utility.
Since you need to backup your data...you may as well skip third party
utilities altogether
and just backup...then destructively repartition

I agree - it would be foolish to resize partitions without backups
(especially on a server). Most partitioning tools will try to caution
you that while they say it's safe, you should STILL have a good backup.
You might want to look into Partition Commander Pro -

costs $300 but includes a technician's license for use on an unlimited
number of computers and works on Servers and Workstations. I've used an
earlier version and found it effective.
You can also look into BootIt NG -

I've heard some good things...

You may find that there is not enough free space on a certain partition.
For example, you want to enlarge C: drive, which usually is Windows
system drive. EASEUS Partition Manager Personal lets you free enlarge or
reduce a partition in Windows 2000/XP/2003 Server(Only Server Edition)
without destroying data easily.

is a good partition tool and it is $149. It is cheaper compared with
EASEUS Partition Manager Server, which is 499 dollars and Paragon
Partition Manager 9.0 Server is $299.

Manager Server Edition can run on your server,David. If you are having
your first try, you can have a back up of your important file and have a
