how to enable search engine using internet browser

hi,

i would like to seek for expertise help on how to
setup a search engine to search for local files by
using internet explorer with the index services enable.

as what i know for WinNT4.0 with Index Server 2.0 loaded,
the default search page is provides but not available for
Win2000 Server.

please help. thks.
