Could Not Access The Local Server

I just got the first Win2K machine into my office last week. When I log
on, I get the following error message:

Could not access the local server

I click the OK button (the only button available) and everything seems to
run normally after that. It maps all the drives to the server, and I can
access files and folders on the server without any problems.

The machine was originally configured in another domain, then shipped to
me. We had to then remove it form the original domain and add it to my
domain. I'm wondering if we missed a setting that is causing something
on the machine to look for the original domain server. The network
identification properties shows the correct user name and domain, and I
can successfully log on to my domain, but I still get the error message.

Anyone know what causes this problem, and how to fix it?

Is this computer running McAfee VirusScan?

If so, I would suggest uninstalling it (or whoever is authorized to do it
where you work) and reinstalling it opting during the installation to have
it installed under the System account. (I believe you need Mcafee Virusscan
4.5 in order to do this)

I've seen this before when McAfee wasn't installed under the System account
and a non-administrator tried to login.

Let us know if this helps!
