removable storage - RSM.exe - initialise tape through commandline

Hi,
Does anyone know how to initialise a tape via the commandline?

We have Windows 2000 professional, Echo ADR40 backup device and echo drivers
for Windows 2000
We are trying to run a scheduled backup where the media should be
automatically added to the media pool but it doesn't seem to work, so we
have to reinitialise each time, so I wanted to find a way to automate. Any
ideas
