Hi

This one may challenge you. Ok we are currently running
Windows 2000 with active directory in mixed mode, and we
are in the early stages of migration from the old NT
Domain. We have made our OU structure and moved the user
accounts into there departmental OUs, but we also have
about 1000+ computer objects in the default computer
container which because of the rubbish naming scheme I
have been left with the job of having to move them into
there OUs without a clue on what OU to put most of them in.

Now what I need to do is find a way of pulling information
off each computer, such as their computer name, username
of logon user and maybe IP address. The reason I need this
information is so I can put each computer into there
correct departmental OU.

I was wondering if you could do this with a script or
something but I am not very clued up in the area of making
scrip's. I need to get the info from Windows 2000
computers NT Workstations and 95/98 computers.

If you can find a solution or give any advice on this you
will safe me a lot of time and hassle.

Cheers

Paul

What you need is software that will scan your network.
With so many options...it is really easy to find.

I've used several and currently I use Look@LAN Network
Monitor 2.5. It is Free and works very well. Will give
you all the info that you need and put it into a report.

Hope this helps...
