Hi All,

Some of our employees are requesting that we set up our exchange mail server
so that they may be able to access it from outside the corporate network. I
installed the appropriate files and set up the website. I added the alias
record to our DNS server, and everything works fine when we go to the
website internally. However, when I try to do it from outside the network,
I get the familiar "Page Cannot be Found" Error.

I had a quick check, and our domain name is still valid.

I'm sure it's something I'm doing on my end, and I was wondering if someone
can tell me where to look? Here's a quick overview of what we have (IP
names changed), and what I've done so far:

Our External IP address - 199.xxx.xxx.xxx
Our Internal Address (Web Server - Windows 2003 Web Ed.): 192.xxx.xxx.A
Our Internal Address (Email Server - Windows 2000 Server w/Exchange 2000):
192.xxx.xxx.B
Our Internal Address (Domain Controller - Windows 2000 Server):
192.xxx.xxx.C

So far, I have done this:
- Set up the Exchange Web services to allow web access
- Put an (A) record into the domain controller DNS with the host MAIL that
has an IP address of the mail server (192.xxx.xxx.B)
- On the firewall, I set up a new inbound proxy from IP: 0.0.0.0 SN: 0.0.0.0
to IP: 199.xxx.xxx.xxx SN: 255.255.255.255.

What do I need to look at next?

Thanks!

Brian.

You need an MX record in DNS that points to your SMTP email server.
