why does fdisk /mbr not work under 2000?

I used to have a dual boot and when I try to do fdsik /mbr I don't get an
error but the boot screen to select 2000 or win98 is always present.

Boot from a floppy disk or CDRom then do fdisk/mbr. Make sure you backup all
your data and/or programs in case anything goes wrong.
