Hi,
I have installed 2 LAN's :
10.1.0.0/8 and 10.2.0.0/8
They are connected via 2 cisco routers -> leased line.
That's no problem.
I've installed RRAS on the 10.1.0.1 Win2K server
(subnetmask 255.255.0.0), and configured an external modem on COM1. No
problem here
I've configured RRAS to be Access Server only, and to assign an IP from
DHCP (which has a free pool of addresses from 10.1.0.60 to 10.1.0.100,
subnetmask 255.255.0.0)
When I dial into the modem, I get an IP from the DHCP
BUT (here it comes)
Since DHCP is only providing the IP, and not the subnetmask I'm having
big troubles. The subnetmask I've been assigned is 255.0.0.0 (that's
the default subnetmask for a class A address, so the RRAS must be
thinking I'n not using subnets)
That way, the DNS IP is not correctly assigned , WINS IP is not
correctly assigned, and I can't ping any DNS name.

Second : the server's IP has also changed from 10.1.0.1 to 10.1.0.x
(another IP from the free range in DHCP. Formly I've only used RAS on
NT4, and I've read that RRAS assigns an IP for the server also. Is that
correct and why is that needed ?
Can somebody help me with the 'dial-into-subnet' problem ?
PS : The server has only 1 NIC !
THANKS
Peter
