I have a notebook and a desktop both running W2k Pro. Each has a network
card and I have one cross-over cable.

Could anyone point me towards a WEB site that contains typical step-by-step
instructions on how to configure a network connection between two systems
using the Windows 2000 Pro operating.

For home use only, mainly to transfer large file sets between the two
systems.

Thank you.

Start button/Help/Search "Peer to Peer" and just follow the instructions.

If you want to really expand your W2K network knowlege, try Start
button/Help/Search "Network" ...
