can't join domain issue

Hello everybody,

I am having huge problems trying to get a Win2k client to join a domain of a
win2kserver. I keep getting the error message ' interface is unknown'.

I have tried un/reinstalling tcp/ip and the nic and also deleting some .vct
files i saw as a fix somewhere but now am completely stuck.

Any advice anyone can give to save my life would be very gratefully
recieved.

Try to ping the DC by name ping dcserver
If it fails to ping by name but can ping by IP than you have a dns problem.
Make sure that the clients IP address is defined and that it is not
conficting with any other computer and that the primary DNS is the IP of the
DC or dns server if different. Then try adding the client to the domain.

Assuming that you are only using your own internal servers for DNS (since
