I have set up a new PDC (primary domain controller) using Active Directory
on win2k Advanced server.
then added my computer (won2kpro) and user, and gave them full control to
msmq, and other applications that seemed relevant.

of course I reinstalled msmq on each machine after that process...

my problem is that no matter what I do, I get the error:
"The remote computer is not avaliable"

a quick brief in the documentation aanounced that I either defined a wrong
computer name, or that the computer is turned off...
none was right.

Did you uninstall MSMQ from the Workstation before adding the workstation to
the domain? This can cause a lot of problems.

An unscientific survey of postings to the msmq newsgroups (i.e., what I
remember) would seem to indicate that this problem is almost always caused
by DNS problems resulting from the migration to Active Directory. I get the
impression that AD likes to assume it is the DNS server. When it isn't, and
when it doesn't agree with the real DNS server things go sadly wrong.
