I'm running the FTP server that comes with IIS 5.0. My problem is that it
eats up all my system resources once somebody is logged in and is
reading/writing files. Is there any way to assign a lower priority (i.e.
take up idle time only) to the FTP service?

Thanks,

I will give you the NT 4 server equivalent as I am not sitting in front of a
Win2k machine.

Go to Control Panel and then System and then Performance.

You want the foreground application to have Maximum use of resources. That
is the only fix I know of off the top of my head.

I had the same problem when someone over our LAN FTPed to my computer and
started pulling files at around 8mb/s. My computer just about died. My fix
was to make it a password protected HTTP site and allow directory browsing.
Sorry I cannot help.
