Inaccesible Boot Device

Hi, if anyone can lend a hand, i'll be most appreciative :

MSDN : Windows 2000 RC2 (and now, release version)

System :

FIC VB-601. Latest BIOS (MI415)
PII-400Mhz @ 400Mhz
128mb PC100 DIMM
ATI Rage Pro 128 (TV Out) with Video Card
SBLive! Soundcard
6.4gb Fujitsu HDD [NOTE : BIOS detects this as 2gb, you have to manually
input the correct settings to get thr 6.4gb)

When I install w2k I get through the nice blue setup menu, and then the
message (at the bottom) says "Starting Windows 2000" and i get all
excited...then i see

"INNACESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE" blue screen of death.

Any advice as to what my problem is? I'm going to try, M/board, video & a
3.2gb Quantum HDD on their own...but if that doesn't work i'm stuck!
