On the network there are several win98 machines and no other win2k, so I
guessed that it was a problem in connecting win98 to win2k. I was WRONG!!!
Actually I found that when I connected my machine via a hub, it worked just
fine.
Trouble is I don't own a hub and all the other machines is also going to be
upgraded to win2k. Do we really need to throw away all the BNC cables and
NIC's ?!? Is it only possible to use TP-network under win2k ?!?

I'm not sure of all you mean but if I understand well your request, so yes
you can configure network with other protocol. By default w2k install
TCP/IP but you can install other like NT or W9x. So you will be availeble
for connect all your machines...
