Hi, all!

I've tried to print from win 2000 SR1 to HP 720C printer. Driver is included
on the win 2000 disk, the text is printing just fine. But when i try to
print images, it begins to print OK and then smudges the image completely.
It happens with all of applications i've tried. The printer works just fine
with win 95, so i am almost concerned that the problem is in a driver. I've
tried to install the nt 4 driver, but it refuses to install completely
because the registry keys are different and doesn't work either. Had anyone
encountered that problem? May be, there exists some new driver for hp 720c
and win 2000? Or patch for an old one? Any help or advice will be greatly
appreciated.
Please, CC: to mgle...@yahoo.com, since i'm only subscribed to part of
the newsgroups.
Thanks,
Michael

I have an HP890C and Win2000Pro with I believe a similar problem. The first two
pages print okay but beyond that it is garbled. The funny thing is that beyond
the second page I can print multiple pages. I therefore believe that after the
second page there must be a different control character sent to the printer. I
have no answer. I tried calling HP and they told me it was a Win2000 problem,
when I called Microsoft they told me to call HP. My conclusion purchase another
printer from another manufacturer and keep the sales receipt until you find one
that works.

I'm using a 720c with the standard Windows 2000 drivers, with no problems at
all. Have you checked the driver settings, eg. paper type etc?

Ian
