I am trying to get a handle on when a user logs into our network. Since
people leave their NT machines on 24 hours a day, they usually just lock
their workstation overnight and then unlock in the morning. What I have
noticed is that there is no rhyme or reason as to when the domain controller
will record the unlocking of the workstation. My workstation seems to
record its unlock events on the domain controller's event log, but the
unlocks of many of our machines just never appear in the domain controller
event log at all.

What determines whether or not a machine's logins or workstation unlocks
will appear as records in the domain controller's Security Eventlog?

Perhaps the event is being logged to another login server in the domain (not
the PDC).
