unable to access computer in a windows network

Hi,
I wanted to share some of my folders over a ms network. The have
enabled for remote desktop from "my computer" properties....I have
also set the max user connection, permissions etc....
Even after this I am unable to connect to my comp from another
comp...An error message of "access denied" appears...
Even the administrator login is not accepted... (Please note the
other comp has win2000 ). I also have win2000 and sharing works
perfectly there...
Require quidance desperately...Please help....
