From what I understand, Windows XP means the end of DOS.

I have one piece of software (a dedicated database program, actually), that
is in DOS only. The author has no plans to "windowize" it. I absolutely
cannot do without it.

Does it mean that I should forget about Windows XP? Or are there
alternatives?

Maybe I should rephrase the message.

I have a DOS program (a database program) that I must keep because I need
it.

It runs fine in a Windows 98 window.

Can I run it in Windows XP?

I'm really not sure, but there are other options. You can dual boot, that is
use Win98 on one partition, and WinXP on another. If you post the name of
the program, I'll ask around and see if anyone has tried it.

Sorry I can't be more helpful. Personally, I like XP, but have to keep Win98
SE because my older cable modem has stopped being supported by US Robotics.
It's probably my fault, after all I bought the modem 5 months ago, I
shouldn't expect it to last this long.

This is an issue with 3-com/u.s. robotics, not XP.
