Howdy,
I was trying to authenticate to a WebDAV share using XP. But it doesnt
seem to work.

Here is a the scenario:
I have a WebDAV server (let's say http://dav.something.com).

I goto "My Network Places" in XP
Click on "Add a network place" icon
It brings up the wizard. I click on Next.
I click on "Choose another network location"

Then it asks me for "Internet or network address"
I type in http://dav.something.com

Then it prompts me for userid and passwd.
userid: saqib
passwd: {my passwd}
I enter those in, but the authentication fails. I know the userid and
passwd work, cause i can connect using Windows 2000 machine.

After failing several times, I looked into the WebDAV server log.

It showed me that I was trying to login as sa...@dav.something.com
when my user id is just saqib. and I didnt put in dav.something.com
while typing in the username.

The XP is adding the dav.something.com automatically to my userid. and
prevents me from logging into my WebDAV server.

i dont want XP to add my server name to my userid.....
how can i disable this?????

Thanks

Saqib Ali
