Visual Studio 2008 Professional Install fails with Error 1330

Hi all,

I am at my wits end. I am installing VS 2008 Professional on my work
machine. We have a volume license
and the files are extracted to a share on our work network. I copied
the shared installation folder to my local
hard drive because I understand that would mitigate potential
problems.

After starting installation the install fails with the following error
-

ERROR:Error 1330.A file that is required cannot be installed because
the cabinet file c:\downloads\visual studio 2008 professional\cab7.cab
has an invalid digital signature. This may indicate that the cabinet
file is corrupt

I used WinVerifyTrust() to check the cab file and get the following

Is there a resolution to this problem? I am trying to install MS Visual
Studio (using files downloaded to my local HD from a network share at work)
on a new T3500 workstation running XP SP3. I did this using these same
files on my old (circa ~2005) Optiplex and the install went fine. Now on my
new T3500 workstation I get the Error 1330 message and when I check the
digital signature tab of each of the cab files, the message says that the
file signatures can not be validated (no revocation list). So I..

1) Turned off the firewall
2) Turned off the anti-virus software
3) Turned off HD indexing
4) tried installing the cab file certificates again
5) unchecked the requirement to check publishers' signatures
6) retrieved the files that worked on the old machine from the old machine
and put them on the HD of the new machine
7) defragged the HD
8) made sure that I had admin priv./ permissions

and other things ... but to no avail

It is something about the old machine that allows the install to work. When
I checked the signatures on the cab files on the old machine they were fine
and that computer was not connected to any network when I last did this test.
As soon as I copied the seemingly fine cab files from the old machine to
the new machine, the signatures could not be validated and the install would
not work. What gives? I am not an expert and appreciate any help!
