I am in need of help. I have been all over the net and
cannot find anything. My problem is that when I try and
create a new web project on the localhost running IIS 6.0
with Interdev 6.0, I receive a cannot find error box. I
have checked the server extensions through the MMC and
they pass. Is there something that maybe is security or
frontpage extension related. I checked the event viewer
for any messages but nothing. I have created a virtual
directory and even placed some files in the inetpub\www
folder.
Thanks,

Michael

Hi Michael,

IIS 6.0 does come locked down and you need to configure things on the
server. You will need to check a few things on the server to ensure that
you can work with Visual Interdev. Here is a list of items to check.

1. Click "Start", point to "Programs", and then click "Control Panel".
2. Double-click "Administrative Tools", and then double-click "Internet
Information Services (IIS)".
3. Click "Web Service Extensions".
4. In the details pane, look for ASP and also look for FrontPage Server
extensions
in the "Web Service
Extension" list.
5. Make sure that these show up in the list and have "Allowed" set for the
status

Note: If you do not see FrontPage Server Extensions in the list, this most
likely
means you do not have them installed. You should be able to install them
from the
Add Remove Programs window in Add Remove Windows Components.
