Somebody pleeeeeease…..

I got Win98 on drive C and Windows NT4 Workstation(SP3) on drive D(NTFS). I
have installed Visual Studio 6.0 then I installed MSDN Library from August
98 all on my NT Workstation. My problem is : Everytime i tried to acces help
files from a Visual Studio application I got the following error message :
"The MSDN Collection does not exist. Please reinstall MSDN." I did that but
it doesn't work either. I have installed these applications (VS6,MSDN) in
every possible order and it still doesn't work! Is it because it is not
installed on drive C?

I hope somebody can help me!

Thanks

The files system for the C drive is probably FAT32 which is
not compatible with NT 4.0 and NTFS. This issue seems
to be resolved in NT 5.0 beta 2. Good luck.

The distribution is buggered.. Microsoft kinda screwed up bigtime. The MSDN
shipped with Visual Studio and/or the component products was July's
apparently. The version 6.0 products need August's at minimum. I've had the
same problem, it has nothing to do with what drive you install on.

Check with microsoft or your supplier to see what arrangements are being
made for fixing this. I've yet to get an answer, but Microsoft HAS
acknowleged there is a problem.

Hi Hjk,

The Visual Studio 6.0 suite will accept the July '98 MSDN (Labeled July MSDN
for Visual Studio 6.0), and all will be well. Hope this helps.

I don't have those CD's. All I have is the MSDN Select CD's. It won't work
with those, or the Select CD's for VStudio or any of the products in the
suite.
