I've tried just about everything I can think of but
always end up getting the same error. Inetpub\wwwroot is
shared as wwwroot$, the local Administrator account has
Full Control permissions and I'm signed in using that
account.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've included the error log of my latest attempt below

Cheers
Marc

I have seen one other case where sharing the wwwroot folder did not help.
In that case, we were installing from DVD's

Are you? If so, then do this:

Use xcopy to copy the contents of the DVD to a flat on the hard drive and
install from there.
xcopy <source> <destination> /H /Y /E

There have been some issues with DVD Readers not reading the DVD's
correctly during installation.

The error message in your log does indicate that setup cannot gain access
to inetpub\wwwroot folder.
If you have it shared as wwwroot$ and local admin has full permissions and
you are logged on as local admin, that should do it, however, as I said, I
have seen one other case where we had to xcopy to hard drive before issue
was resolved.

I hope this helps

Thank You

Thanks for the reply Kurtis.

I'm installing from the images, not the DVD. However, I have tried to copy
the files to a hard drive in an attempt to install from there but have come
up with another (possibly the root of the ...) problem - there is a file on
CD1 that I get an error with when trying to copy ...

Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio
.NET\FrameworkSDK\Samples\QuickStart\winforms\samples\data\webservicebinding
\vb\client\web references\localhost\SimpleCustomersWebService.wsdl

I have tried to copy this file from both a CDRW drive and a DVD drive with
no luck - is it possible you could email me the file? Hopefully that will
sort out the problem as when trying to install I've not managed to get past
the first CD.

Look forward to your reply

Marc

I apologize, I cannot send you that file.

However, There were some issues with the ISO's being corrupted. When did
you download them?

I think your best bet at this point is to re-download the ISO's as the
problem with the corrupted ISO's on the Web site is resolved.

If this does not help, please let me know and I will see what else I can do.

I have obtained the file from a colleague, copied everything to hard drive
and now have a fully functional installation.

Thanks for trying.
